Kubota Gardens & International District

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, members bike from Gasworks Park
to Kubota Gardens and then the International District for lunch.

The beginning of the route is very traditional, taking everyone
on the Gasworks to Seward Park Trail south along Lake Washington.

From Seward Park, riders continue south on Seward Park Avenue
and then jog uphill to the Gardens on Renton Avenue.

This time of the year the gardens aren't that colorful
but they are still special and fun for everyone to explore.

From the gardens all bike north on the Chief Sealth Trail,
scenic country beauty in the middle of the city.

The trail ends just south of downtown Seattle
a short distance from the International District and Uwajimaya Village.

After taking in a little of the New Year's excitement, fire crackers,
Dragon Dances and music, all get some refreshments at Uwajimaya's.

Then just a block away is the new Historic Chinatown Gate,
opened two days earlier, and a must see for all visitors.

From the gate it's north again through Mrytle Edwards Park,
past Olympic Sculpture Park, and back to Gasworks.
