July 4th - North Lake Washington

To celebrate the 4th of July and sunshine, club members ride
the North Lake Washington Loop starting from Gasworks Park.

The route starts on the Burke-Gilman Trail going from the park
to Kenmore and then south along the east side of the lake.

Riders either take Juanita Hill or 100th to Juanita Beach Park
and then ride through wetlands to Kirkland Marina Park.

On the 4th of July timing is critical to get everyone
through Downtown Kirkland before the start of the Parade.

This year we were about 15 minutes late which meant all
had to do some fancy maneuvering to get through parade crowds.

After Kirkland we headed inward through Medina to skip
downtown Bellevue traffic and see spectacular lake views.

We then took the I-90 Trail to Mercer Island's Roanoke Tavern
for mid ride nourishment and socializing before completing our loop.

At the end of the ride there was some quick negotiations
to decide other rides and to exchange emails for other gatherings.
